ALL BOOKS ARE PUBLISHED IN PAPER AS WELL AS E-BOOK FORMAT BECAUSE OUR AUTHORS ARE GOOD ENOUGH TO BE REPRESENTED IN ALL MEDIA

Black Velvet Seductions publishes only the best romantic fiction. We publish every book we publish in both paperback and e-book versions simply because we believe every book we publish is good enough to warrant being available in all media.

WE SURPASS INDUSTRY STANDARDS IN FAIR TREATMENT OF OUR AUTHORS

We pay top royalties. We pay 50% of the cover price in royalties on all e-books sold from our website. For books sold via other venues we pay 50% of what we are actually paid for the book (not the cover price). On paperback books we pay a royalty of 10% of the price Black Velvet Seductions is paid for books sold.

We are a unique company and are moving in new directions. All books are released in both paperback and e-book versions. Books that attain sales figures that warrant the additional investment will then be released in audiobook versions as well.

WE HAVE PARTNERSHIPS IN PLACE THAT MAKE OUR BOOKS AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE

Our books are available in worldwide markets. All books are available on our website, and this is probably the least expensive place to purchase them as there are no middlemen to pay. However, we also have partnerships which allow us to have our books available through Amazon.com (worldwide sites) Alibris, and Abebooks. Books can be ordered through our sales department, through Baker & Taylor or BookSurgeDirect.com

WE ARE COMMITTED TO DEVELOPING TALENTED NEW AUTHORS

At Black Velvet Seductions we work with new and established authors. We desire long term relationships with our authors and work to build the kind of relationships that make that possible.

We strive for rapid response times on all submissions but we provide an above average amount of feedback on all manuscripts we receive, even those that aren't right for us, and that takes time.

If a work shows promise for one of our lines we prefer to offer a revision letter that suggests the ways in which the work might be made suitable for us as opposed to sending a rejection.

We are dedicated to building a stable of extremely talented romance authors. To that end, we work with the promising new authors to help them perfect their craft and polish their work for publication.

WE OFFER AUTHORS THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE INVOLVED IN COVER ART DECISIONS

No one knows a book better than its author. Our authors play a big role in planning the cover design for their book(s). They are included in cover design discussions with Black Velvet staff and cover artists throughout all phases of design work.

WE HAVE SEVERAL LINES AND CAN OFFER AUTHORS THE ABILITY TO WRITE WITHIN SEVERAL SUB-GENRES WITHOUT LOSING THEIR READERSHIP

We have developed four separate lines which cover about every type of romance novel. Lines are categorized according to erotic content. Within each line we publish a wide variety of romance including contemporary and historical of all time periods and small amounts of paranormal and science fiction romance. We publish erotic, sensual, and sweet romance as well as romantic suspense. Within our lines we have room for a wide variety of voices and stories.
